Day One : i was super excited bout OBS! thanks gdness i had a ride from juwel or i'll be strewn on some punggol place like lost duckling.sorry kahweewee.i promised to take bus 82 with u but i dint.sorry ): hahah.we reached there super early since mr.chua said 8a.m...okay la! i'll skip all this boring stuff.--fast forward-- we're on the boat going to pulau ubin!! im soo excited n afraid too! jiajie announced our groups,and from then on,it was the start of our Marco Polo journey! yay! after soo much admin stuff,(esp the stupid store.)we finally got lunch.(guess wad,bread. -.-) then it was the sorting out of all the food rations..(poor vc and shanna had a hard time).we also did trust fall on that day.it was super funny cuz we took turns to be a blade of grass and got pushed around like crazy,and tt petrifying fall on the mat! that was sooo fun lah! then it was belaying,the rope game where i tasted the bitter rope while biting it,and DINNER! our first meal we cooked,and it was a lil' lil' disastrous.but we all put efforts into cooking one okay! haha.the rice was...grainy,but still,it was nice after a long day! we all sat on the canvas n enjoyed this first meal.and suprisingly,i slept well that night. (tent buddies-zhuting,me,graci,gina and vc! ) it was also the day i got to know Marco Polo's members alot alot better! (:
Day Two: We were late as usual.haha.me n zoots were I/C for today! i rmb both of us kept running about to look for her and ask for time extension.haha.we rushed like crazy to pack all our stuff n prepared for the kayaking expedition to camp 1 later that day.so we prepared for kayaking,and learnt how to paddle n stuff.we also did the capsize drill and TX-rescue.hahah.i was sooo tired doing this rescue can? almost died.LOL.and this was also when i realise my kayaking is really bad.weird.i just cant seem to go straight la! and i thought i'll be okay since i tried in p5.hai,i must be more humble.but somehow,me and chelsia made it to camp 1.miracle! lol.i felt it wont work for the sea expedition tml..but we also dont want to break up the nice pairs that every1 are in.so we decided to try it like this tml! (: we reached camp 1 and walked around the place.this was esp painful for me cuz i have abrasion.wah,super torturous la! and the sand in my shoes cut my feet like crazy.i bet the whole grp was feeling quite exhausted with all the rescuing and falling into the water.plus,the rowing about.oww oww.we pitched out tents,n showered up.the wet clothes were so stinky! no place to hang at this camp 1's campsite.(which seemed weird as its a small piece of land with trees in the middle of the high tech camp 1.haha.tonight's dinner was like,the best! we all sang happy b'day to ourselves and fed one another! lol.soo cute la! oh.i took the syrup from the wrong place n got chided by the staff there. :( then,it was the night walk! i was super scared initially,but finally i got over it! (mainly cause i kept singing to myself.lol) im soo proud of myself! and of every MP member.cuz we all tried it! yay! (: i learnt to face my fears and not look back while trying it.yay! haha.and again,i got to know MP members even better today! oh yes,the cookhouse had some quotes that went like 'thinking together is unity,working together is success'.u can get the rest from gina! she was so excited bout blogging it! hahah.i slept quite well tonight!
Day Three: we kind of overslept today.hahah.so we unpitched and packed our bags again.this time it was to prepare for sea expedition to camp 3.before we left the place,we went on the Tripod.this activity was us belaying one another n going onto the high elements.i esp rmb my turn when i was super scared.i had a fear of heights,so the third part of the tripod which was walking on these funny shapes was the worst.i kept calling jiajie and vanessa. xD wah,v paiseh.'jiajie! hold tighter! release abit! tighter!' and 'vanessa hold tight tight! vanessa hold tight tight!' im so sorry.their hands must have almost broken off while gripping so tightly.i was really uber afraid lah! thanks,jj and vc! oh yes,thanks alot to the grp for the encouragement! (: v warm feeling inside to receive encouragement! hahah.then it was the kayaking.initially,i wasted alot alot of my energy while trying to put the direction of the kayak right.i just cant understand why we weren't going straight.it was like using my energy for the wrong things.hahha.with the pressure that we were alr late,our grp is waiting for us in front in front,the sweeper was yelling at us,i was really trying super hard to go forward but it just doesnt seem right..the pressure was so,so bad! i cried.and i rmb telling myself 'meixuan,u shame shame ah!' hahaha.thank gdness,when i really almost gave up le.my grp came to my rescue! their encouragement was really nice,and thank you wymer and asilah for swopping places to save us! the rest of the trip,i was just super focused on paddling with asilah,and dint really eat or drink.i rmb there was about 5 mins when they gave us a break.but we kept drifting back so we paddled forward for abit n rest awhile again.i rmb i dint rest at all cuz i only focused on moving ahead of this gate that seemed to be beside us all the time! everytime we paddled a lil forward of the gate,we'll end up at the exact same spot again.this happened for liek5 or 6 times then we realised that we were just getting pushed back n not moving at all,so we took off again! and finally! we reached camp 3 on time despite startin an hr late.yay! well done,APOLLO! thats the name of our buddy watch.while kayaking,i picked up rubbish from the ocean and threw it into wymer's kayak.LOL.he's as green as me (cuz i forced him to) and we helped to make a difference! imagine the animals n sea creatures that could have died cuz of those rubbish! yay us! hahah.as i was with asilah,i kind of mixed with the amunsen ppl,and i had a gd time listening to their conv! hahha.they v funny..and it was such a gd feeling knowing that we've reached camp 3,and i ate as i sat on the rocking kayak,waiting for our turn to go back on shore.super shiok! feeling lei.vvv happy.when we got up,it wasnt such a nice feeling anymore.the super strong tides at the shores blew me off my feet! and left a lot alot of rocks n stones in my shoe.again.these cut the exact same spot as yest,which gave me double pain.and,abrasion was twice today! my gosh.i could have died while walking so much! but,thanks to MP,i walked thru! (: then,its the quarry dip! this one is the real SHIOK one.imagine ur tired,exhausted,sandy,feeling pain all over and suddenly ur brought to this big beautiful quarry with fresh groundwater! OMG.i rmb how all of us were so excited to jump into it right away! when we jumped down,all of us kept giggling,and laughing,and playin about.how super nice! i was soooo relieved! all my pain vanished instantly! and,i dont feel lethargic at all! gosh.its realli realli gd! i'll nvr forget how contented i was! when we came up,my abrasion dint hurt anymore,graci's eyes was better.its like this quarry contained miracle water! LOL.but we could only stay in it for bout 5 mins (some of them wanted to swim further so they could stay longer,but we were all scared by the water lizard.and the 'story' of all the spirits who perished in the mine.and that the white birds would fly away at 6.30,and this shows the guardians of the quarry is moving away,so we shld move too.) ok,i admit,i took off my shoe in the water.heehee.they dint allow it cuz it will drop all the way down n we'll nvr find it again.dinner tonight was not bad as we cooked noodles! (: and members from other watches taught us how to cook,lent us their shovel and fireplace.sooo nice can? (: we changed in the tents and this was when we realised SE BIBI.from then onwards,everytime we see him,we'll call 'se bibi! se bibi alert!' hahah.funniest thing of the night,the 6 opf us peed in the bushed. o"o im soo embarrassed by it lah.but its funny too! want to know why? cant tell.its a girls' secret between marco polo girls! heeheehee.i cant sleep this night as it was super super warm n stuffy inside.zoots n i complained n affected out tent buddies.i slept beside VC for a change n she told me i kept tapping her,and she kept saying 'yes meixuan?' but i dint respond.LOL! oh ya,this night,i rmb MP looked for theresa at her slping place n we had to jump over puddles to get there.v funny..we also packed our bags! yay.
Day Four: we woke up on time today n prepared to go for land exp today.before that,we had our morning circle n was told purpose of the exp.my abrasion hurts lah.haihaihai.really dint know how to survive.but we carried our super heavy bags n set off! we lost to amunsen in some game,and started 10mins later than them for that.but as u know,MP nvr gives up.we even caught up with them later! yay us.but amunsen quite poor thing too.11 girls n 2 guys.so..our grp started off and initially i realli couldnt take the weight of the bag.but as we continued to walk,i got more used to it.talk to zhuting about my ambitions.hahha.then we went to quite alot of checkpoints! one memorable 1 was sth like 'its not the endpoint that counts,but the process of it.' another was 'little by little,we travel long distances' wah.very cool! (: wymer n jiajie were the navigators and they really did a super great job! they knew we were tired,but they were patient.they were tired,but they nvr show it.soo cool.oh yes,my waist buckle of my haversack split.lol.i think its either im too fat after lunch or my bag's too heavy.haha.the most memorable checkpoint was german girl shrine.i was quite freaked by the barbie doll inside.scared.and she quite poor thing,alot of things about her are left ambiguous... ...the gifts that ppl brought her are like a timeline itself! it ranges from powder which came in square like chunks tt i rmb my granny used to love using it,to maybelline or some expensive brand of blusher! whoa...im so glad to have my grp.we kept encouraging each other to continue,and we cheered one another..we even visited the late headman's house! saw alot of photos..cool! (: we also went to the spice garden and had fun! like pandan n elephantopus plant or sth like that.hah.at the last part,when we were super super exhausted cuz of the hot sun and long journeys plus heavy bag...we saw a banner from OBS that said PERSEVERANCE.whoa...i was so super happy! i just told myself to continue on! and me,zoots megan n gina just kept cheering,right till we reached camp 2.whoa.the feeling of satisfaction.relieved,happy,excited! too gd to be true.we did the lying on each other's stomachs activity n kept giggling.we had to say 'hohoho hahaha.'so funny to see each other's heads bobbing up n down we laughed and did it.hahah.funniest was kang ning on chelsia's stomach.okay,after that,we had a super filling dinner.we tried to eat all that we could but every one was super full! for once,we were full.lol! then i stuffed myself lor.stuff all the sardine into my mouth! hahah.and that marks the end of the last dinner.again,we packed all our stuff for tml.we washed all the flysheets and canvas tgt.and tonight,i slept well! (:
Day Five : though we were reluctant initially and dint want to go for the jetty jump,we did in the end.i dont regret at all! and i thank theresa for asking us to do it! cuz we said our 3 thank-you,2 sorrys,and 1 commitment before we jumped in.oh yes,before that,we revealed our guardian angel.mie was kang ning! we said one weakness and strength bout each other.zhu ting was my guardian angel! so we showered n this is the end of OBS course,but the start of our journey outside! i really thank theresa for being so tolerant n nice to us! we sang n sang to her at the last part.haha.oh yes,the whole grp bought ourselves a team tee!! blue OBS shirt.yay! hahah.okay.that's all.but its to be continued as i havent written a paragraph for each of my Marco Polo family yet.hee.i'll write till here today.i spent 2 hours lei! xDD
